Leslie's daughter, the real Jennifer
Jennifer has benefited from the positive parenting practices Leslie teaches and is a very caring medical doctor. Jennifer and her husband live in Texas with their two children who enjoy reading about Mommy’s misadventures!

"Jennifer's misadventure is delightful. Kids and parents will both love the story. It would also make a perfect gift for a teacher, counselor or for grandparents to give to their families. Leslie's counseling expertise gives her unique insight into positive parenting."

Pam C.

“Jennifer Pennifer is a well-written and beautifully illustrated children's book. The story leads to Jennifer's misadventure and the positive, loving way her mother responds. Throughout the story, there is expression of positive family values: eating together as a family and enjoying family meals, parents helping their children, parents reading to their children and communication between family members. The resource page is a bonus for parents, giving insight and advice on arenting. I recommend this book for children, ages 4 to 11. ”

Sumer W.

“I loved it, and am sharing it with children and adults alike! It makes you feel honored to be a part of a child’s life and heart.”

Billie H.

"It's very refreshing to read a story in which the parents are parenting with love and sensibility. So many children don't get to be children because they are so worried about grown-up problems."

Judith C.

Special Education School Counselor

"Jennifer Pennifer struck a chord with me - this story provides guidance for helping a child learn that it's okay if you make a mistake, and how to correct it and learn from it. It reassures parents that you CAN guide a child gently on the right path without stifling that wonderful sparkle of creativity and curiosity. My 5-year-old granddaughter related to Jennifer instantly, saying, 'Nana, she's just like me.'"

Nana G.

“I thout [thought] Jennifer Pennifer was a very exciting and cool book because...yes I have done the silly things Jennifer has. I also enjoyed reading it because her parents are there for her when she needs them.”

A Kid's Review

“Jennifer Pennifer is a great book for very young children to older children. It's a good story with good values and the illustrations are wonderful. The author really understands children and their "misadventures" but brings it all together with loving adults.”
